Well, John, it's been an exciting week, that's for sure.
That's right, Bob. David took on Dr. Viniotis and ECE220 in Daniels 429 on Tuesday, and I have to tell you, Bob, that was one mean fight.
I certainly agree with that, John. Viniotis had a full lineup waiting, both curve fitting and differential equations, but decided to change his strategy at the last minute, letting everything rest on the diff eq.
A risky strategy, Bob, but it certainly did the trick this time. David defended with all his resources, including 3 textbooks and a whole pot of coffee, but the all-nighter approach didn't help at all this time.
That may have actually been his downfall, John. You can't expect to take on second order differential equations with that little sleep. It never happens.
That's right. Our analyists expect that to be about a 50 point game, putting David and 220 at 1 and 1 for the series.
David went back to Daniels 429 today to take on Dr. Rotenburg and ECE212. That was another unfair fight, but this time in favor of David. He pulled the all night strategy again, but this time it paid off.
It certainly did, John. Rotenburg threw everything he had, from multiplexor design to karnough map simplification of sequential logic, but it just wasn't enough. Rotenburg had the home court advantage, but even the broken and uncomfortable seats of 429 couldn't dismay David once the test got going. I think he could have handled this one without the cheat sheet, John.
Probably, Bob, since he even made several corrections to it durign the test. This is David's stronger area, and wasn't holding anything back today. Analysts say Rotenburg can't have chipped more than 4 or 5 points off David's score, tipping the scales in David's favor to 2 and 0 for this series.
But that's not the end of it, John. David's hitting the road again today, this time to Harrelson Hall to take on Ancient History, and that is shaping up to be one messy battle.
Well, David's just not ready for it, Bob. He has time to gather his thoughts on Athenian government for the big essay, but that leaves 65% of the field uncovered. That's a lot of territory, covering all of ancient
Greece and then some. Furthermore, he missed a lecture and has never even heard anything of the Greek dark ages. That's not a game non-massochists want to watch, Bob.
Yes, we're expecting a decisive victory for History there, putting that series at 2 and 1 in David's favor. He still stands a good chance at winning the series, but this could hurt his chances in other areas.
That's right, Bob. David's going to have to put a lot more work into his History game, taking away from precious time needed for improvement in the areas of ECE211 and especially 220. Overall, David still stands a good chance of moving on to next semester.
That's provided he gets a gameplan, John. He needs to take a look at his schedule tonight, or he won't have any classes to worry about in the future.
Good point. And that's it for this week's report on painful, boring sports. We now take you back to things exploding in
Iraq. Back to you, Shelly...
